Fall Colors Coming
Spectacular fall colors are here! Don't miss out!
One of the reasons that many people live in Colorado is the spectacular fall colors that we get each year as the Aspen trees leaves turn brilliant yellow highlighted by crystal blue skies. The Colorado Rockies are accentuated by shimmering gold leaves in the trees and on the ground. Bull elk bugle back and forth which echoes across tall mountains with a hint of snow at their summits.
One of the most exciting ways of seeing the fall colors and leaves a lasting impression is by train. Why not let someone else drive while you enjoy the fall colors? The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad runs daily from Antonito (except on Fridays) through October 16th. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad also runs daily through October 29th. They also offer a special fall photography trip on September 25th.
Since the leaves in Colorado change at different times depending on altitude, weather, and conditions, check with Colorado State Parks (www.parks.state.co.us/fall ) for a report on current leaf conditions around the state. They also provide six excellent drives for fall color viewing.
