International Sportsman's Expo
When you hear the phrase “All your outdoor guides, outfitters and gear under one roof” you probably say to yourself “OK, nice sales pitch”. But as soon as you walk into the International Sportsman’s Expo, being held at the newly renovated Denver Convention Center, the reality of that claim will be staring you right in the face. ALL of your needs will be met, up to and including your burial arrangements. That’s right. Just to the left of the main entrance you will see a fully camouflaged and adorned…. Casket. Now that is a must have for all of you die hard (pun intended) outdoorsmen and women.
Colorado Explorer was on the scene, visiting with the many Colorado-based outfitters, guides, non-profit organizations and various other businesses. There were so many, in fact, we spent two hours there and barely made it through a couple of aisles. Every imaginable outdoor adventure business is represented, as well as a large showing of national and international outdoors-related companies.
There are also several demonstration booths and tanks as well as hunting and fishing theaters. Among the demonstration areas are a Sporting Dog Arena, Bait Casting Aquarium, Goose and Duck Calling Contest Stage and two Fly-Casting Ponds; one for dealer demonstrations and one for Fly Casting Seminars and Tournaments. All of which have some type of demonstration or video in progress almost constantly.
For the younger attendees, the International Expo will be introducing the Youth Outdoor Sports Fair. They will have a shooting trailer, CBA Archery Range, climbing wall, the Colorado Outdoor Stage and a Live Raptor Show presented by the Raptor Education Foundation.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife will also be on hand and will be presenting several demonstrations in The Colorado Outdoors Theater throughout the day. Also presenting various seminars and demonstrations will be the Sierra Club, Colorado Bowhunter’s Association, and the Denver Chapter of the Boy Scouts of America.
The International Sportman's Expo began on the 26th of January and continues through the 29th of January. From cradle to grave, they've got what you need with only one exception. The casket does not come in 4 wheel drive... I asked. But, I'm sure that next year someone will have an accessory kit for it!
