I knew it would be a long hike when I parked at the trail head.. my then 7 year old grandson got out of the car, took 20 steps, and informed me his legs were tired.

I finally convinced him we would have alot of fun on this hike. We hiked along with MANY stops to smell flowers, watch wildlife and talk to other hikers.

As we were hiking along, he let me know that nature was calling.  I told him to find a bush and go behind it so no one could see him... He of course picked the smallest bush. As the hikers were going by they could hear a small voice saying HI, could see a little hand waving, and a sweet face with a red ball cap.

Needless to say this brought many smiles and lots of laughter along the trail.

It was a GREAT day, and a memory I will always have.
