Gold Rush Days

The event will kick off Friday evening with a chili feed and bingo at the Elks Lodge and entertainment at the local bars. Saturday will feature the vendors selling again in the Gold Bowl and the CC&V Mining games in the Gold Bowl parking lot. In the downtown area, merchants will have sidewalk sales and entertainers such as clowns, face painting and music in front of their stores. An art show and sale and baking contest will also take place in the down town area. Another new event this year will take place Saturday morning. Judges will choose the most authentically dressed Victorian lady, gentleman and youth to ride in the parade as Grand Marshals. Saturday afternoon will feature another new event, the Battle of the Bands. Area bands will compete for some great prizes and the chance for exposure to some new people. Each band will play three to four country, blues, western, swing or mountain songs and judges will choose winners that show the most talent and showmanship in a variety of styles.
